About the event
I welcome you to join me as we journey with the sacred medicine of Cacao.
Cacao is a powerful teacher and a medicine of the Heart. Theobroma Cacao is called "the food of the gods" and "the food for the shift".
Cacao Ceremonies date back 3,000 years to Central America, where they recognized not only the nutritional value of cacao, but also its profound potential as a ceremonial medicine. The Aztecs and Maya elevated Cacao to a central role in their spiritual and social lives. It was used to unlock euphoric states, release pent up emotions and connect to the pure energy of the heart.
An indigenous myth whispers that the spirit of Cacao leaves the rainforest to spread its magic worldwide whenever the balance between humans and nature is threatened. Its purpose is to open our hearts, to return harmony to the planet, and to help us reconnect with the sacred web of life.
It is important to know how Cacao affects us in a physical way.
Physiologically, Theobroma Cacao is a vasodilator - it widens blood vessels and increases blood flow to the heart, which increasing heart rate and lowers blood pressure. This transfers more oxygen to the brain and increases clarity and creativity. Oxygen flow also increases to the skin.
Theobroma Cacao contains Phenylethylamine (PEA), which is a neurotrasmitter found in high levels in Cacao, responsible for creating a euphoric feeling of pleasure and joy. PEA is often refered to as the "love molecule".
Cacao has been found to increase serotonin levels in the brain by up to 50%. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that regulates mood, appetite and sleep.
Cacao can increase oxytocin levels in the brain, fostering deep connection with oneself, one's body and the surrounding environment.
Cacao is rich in magnesium, an essential mineral required for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body. Magnesium can help muscles relax, reduce stress and increase blood circulation, supporting heart health.
Theobromine is a natural stimulant found in high levels in Cacao. This sharpens focus and stimulates the senses. It also has a relaxing affect on the body, making it an effective natural remedy for stress and anxiety.
Cacao is abundant in antioxidants, which protects the body from the damage of free radicals.
Cacao has been found to have anti-inflammatory properties.
For those not familiar with Cacao, it is the pure form that chocolate is made from.

What will your Ceremony look like?
We will first gather in Circle and learn more about the medicine we are going to drink.
We take time to breathe, meditate and intention set before we drink the Cacao together.
Following this, we quietly allow the Cacao to integrate into our system.
Ceremony often includes breathwork, meditation journey, and movement.
Each ceremony is unique to the intention created.
As we approach Valentines Day, this Ceremony will focus on deep love and connection for ourselves and the people in our lives.
How to prepare for your Ceremony:
Refrain from eating at least 2 hours prior to the Ceremony. Ceremonial Cacao is to be consumed only on an empty stomach.
